My thoughts on "Tony: Montezuma's Gold"

Now there is a color version of Tony. It looks much, much better.

The price has also been reduced from $10 to $6, so now you also get better value for money. The gameplay is still mediocre though. Too bad for the people who bought the cart: they are stuck with monochrome Tony.

But why? When the game was first released, there were all sorts of arguments as to why it was necessary to be in monochrome and that it was so wonderful then. If they really thought the game was perfect as it was, why this change?

It's like George Lucas before the "enhanced" versions of his Star Wars movies. In the 80s and early 90s, he was on a committee to preserve original motion pictures as they were first released. It was so crucial that the original prints of those movies were preserved for posterity. Then, when he finds out the cash cow he could exploit by re-releasing "enhanced" versions of his movies, his principles suddenly changed.
